Tomorrow begins life as a fully employed person. Life as a consultant. Life as someone who is supposed to have intelligent inquiries to get to the bottom of clients' difficult, complex problems. I feel wholly unprepared to serve in this role, yet confident that there is no prep that could make me feel better, so I've settled in to that uneasy, slightly on edge feeling. I'll head into the office at 10am tomorrow morning to begin a whole new education - an on the job education where clients are spending a lot of money to have my ears and insight while I get a paycheck every two weeks! This is a new world for me after being self employed for a decade and then pinching pennies for two years with no income while in grad school.
Tomorrow's a big day.
Tomorrow the summer of leisure will officially conclude. Thanks to the current weather in Seattle, I truly feel like I was able to play for an entire season of the year. And what a season it was!
(That's me. The professional me.)

Starting a new job is always stressful. Believe me, I've had so many "first days", I've lost count! All I can say is, "Look out world...here comes JED"!
