One of my very favorite benefits of attending business school is that I now have this substantial circle of friends who are all DOERS. I feel like so many people talk about doing things, organizing events, creating something without ever really finding the motivation to make them happen. Trust me, I am very well aware that I fall into this category way more often than I would like. The thing about business school is that it attracts people that enjoy the challenge of getting something done. We may not be overly philosophical or the most creative types, but we’re very adept at following through on ideas.
Thanks to this lovely group of doers I’ve spent a weekend wine tasting in Sonoma, California… I’ve swung from a trapeze… I’ve lost two cooking throw-downs in three short months… I’ve stood in embarrassment while an entire houseful of people sang me happy birthday…
The list goes on and on.
The latest is tomorrow. We’re headed out to the Washington coast to dig, capture and bring back for dinner our day’s allotment of razor clams. I know nothing about this endeavor, but this is where the benefit kicks in. I don’t have to know anything because I have a friend who has done everything. He’s researched, he’s planned, he’s organized – he’s made it happen. I have the link to where I register for my 3-day razor clam license in my inbox, along with links to educational videos about razor clams, a tutorial on how to clean them, and a timetable of our day’s events.
I still need to do some research on what my contribution to dinner will be, but regardless of what I come up with I'm confident the day will be a huge success. I'll be taking my camera so I'll try to post some pics before Monday.
Hope your weekend is full adventure too!

I was listening to my favorite Christmas CD which you made way back in 2000 and it reminded me to check your blog and see what your up to. As usual it's always something out of the ordinary! I think they look like a "smushed" Hot Dog. Hopefully, they taste better!
